Notes: Henry Mongin Stoddard inherited Bloody Point Plantation following the War Between the States and was later contacted by the lighthouse service to obtain land for constructing a pair of range lights to aid ships entering the Savannah River.
This building went out of service as a range light in 1899 when it was moved back from encroaching erosion. It continued to serve as keeper's quarters for the Bloody Point Range Lights until 1922. It is now owned by Joe Yocius, a real estate broker.
Bloody Point is the southern end of Daufuskie Island. It was given this name because of the blood shed during the Yamasee War of 1715.
